What triggers it
"Image too small" means the image at image_link falls below Google's minimum pixel dimensions. Today that's 100x100px for most products and 250x250px for apparel, but Google has announced a single 500x500px minimum across all categories, enforced from January 2027. Images sitting near the current minimums are worth upgrading now rather than waiting for enforcement to catch them.

Step by step
- Check the affected image's actual pixel dimensions. Google's longstanding minimums are 100x100px for non-apparel and 250x250px for apparel, but the minimum is rising: from January 2027, Google is enforcing a 500x500px minimum across the board.
- Source a higher-resolution version of the image. Go back to the original product photography or a larger export rather than upscaling the existing small image, upscaling doesn't add real detail and can trip low-quality checks too.
- Replace image_link with the higher-resolution file. Update the feed attribute to point at the new image, keeping the same product association.
- Re-check ahead of January 2027 if you're currently just meeting the old minimum. Images passing today at 100x100 or 250x250 will fail once the 500x500px minimum takes effect, worth clearing this proactively rather than waiting for a fresh wave of disapprovals.
